Our practice focuses on environmentally conscious design and research based collaborative concept development to generate performance structures, meeting the handling and application challenges of the 21st century.

Loading Bay Studios is a research driven workshop practise run by a consortium of industry-leading production design experts with diverse experience in the international performing arts and design industry.

The practice facilitates ongoing evolution of technical and process innovation to expand the practical possibilities of post-globalisation culture’s engagement with arts, performance, architectural design, space and place, town planning and public amenity, and the ongoing societal negotiation with the complex dynamics of the manmade and natural environment.

We conduct structure and process research and deliver project-specific designs powering temporary interventions in London’s environment, working with local authorities, communities and public spaces.

While our work is aesthetically diverse, our projects are linked by a focus on building and enhancing human relationships through deployable designs that deliver shared and profound experiences of the state of the art of aesthetics and engineering.
